Our PADI Divemaster trainees rock!

At the moment, we’ve got more than a handful of Divemaster trainees. They are here to learn how to become PADI Divemasters and we’ve had them busy. From learning how to assist on courses and how to guide certified divers, to mapping dive sites and preparing Emergency Assistance Plans, they’ve all got their work cut out.

Let’s find out some more about them…

Angie

The surfer girl from Western Australia arrived on Gili Trawangan for the first time in August 2011. She fell in love with her instructor Adam and completed both her Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses with him. 6 months later she came to complete her Rescue and Divemaster courses. She’s just finished her Nitrox and Deep specialties. She can’t get enough of it. We can’t get rid of her. Nor would we want to!

Jojo

From London, United Kingdom. She studied Environmental Science at Manchester University and is now enjoying her gap year on the beautiful island of Gili Trawangan. She came here a dive virgin and will leave a dive goddess. She’s gonna break a few hearts when she leaves!

James D

James is from High Wycombe, London. He was already a PADI Rescue Diver and had done lots of diving in the cold waters around the United Kingdom. He’s done so many specialty courses we’ve lost count!

James H

Beautiful James comes from Devon, UK. He’s planning to study Dentistry at Cardiff University beginning in September. He arrived as an Advanced Open Water diver and is currently mid-way through his Divemaster course. He would love to dive deep Shark Point on Nitrox and we might just persuade him to take the plunge and do these specialties.

Nicole

A well-travelled Canadian is one of our newest recruits. She’d visited Gili Trawangan once before and had fallen in love with our stunning island. After performing brilliantly on her PADI Rescue course, she’s started her PADI Divemaster course and is getting to know the dive sites.

Sian

This well-travelled eco-warrior arrived as a PADI Divemaster and has quickly immersed herself into island life. After completing the Biorock specialty she’s been busy making sure the TDC biorocks are nice and tidy. Her love for all things fishy is infectious. We’ve all learnt a lot from her and have been using her to assist on all of our courses.

Jill

Jill arrived as an experienced diver, and made her way here all the way from South Africa. She’s made us all jealous with her plans for a trip of a lifetime. We hope she stays for a long time, as her quick wit and crocs really entertain us.

Izzy

Izzy arrived on the island as a PADI Open Water Diver but hadn’t dived in 5 years. She’s mental and has noodles for hair! She’s from Sussex, UK, and had previously dived in the Red Sea. She’s a big fan of sea anemones because they look like noodles.
