The October PADI Instructor Development (IDC) here in the Gili Islands, Indonesia is due to start on 19th October 2013. We here at the Gili IDC would like to welcome our new candidates who come from a variety of countries.
The PADI IDC is about learning to be a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor and is also the first step of building your professional dive network. The people that you meet on your IDC will become friends and also become the first batch of people within your professional diving network often lasting long after the IDC has finished and throughout your professional diving career.
It’s great when you get a good mix of people on the course as it gives the candidates a chance to not only meet new people, but to learn more about the dive industry in other locations and build worldwide contacts.
To introduce our candidates, we have Rizwan from India and he has been working in The Andaman Islands for many years before choosing to take the PADI IDC here in the Gili Islands. After the IDC, Rizwan intends to work in Indonesia to widen his experience base before returning to his dive center in the Andaman Islands to work as a PADI Instructor. Julia is from the United Kingdom and took her Divemaster course in Koh Lanta, Thailand. Once the course is over Julia is hoping to work as a PADI Instructor here on Gili Trawangan. Deris is from Indonesia and has been working at Blue Marlin Dive Center in Gili Trawangan. After his IDC, Deris will return to Blue Marlin to work as an Instructor. Manon is from The Netherlands and also took her divemaster at Blue Marlin Dive Centre. Once she is a qualified PADI Instructor she hopes to find work here in the Gili Islands, Indonesia. Josef is from Sweden and has been working at Gili Divers as a divemaster. Once he is a qualified PADI Instructor he will continue to work at Gili Divers here on Gili Trawangan. Dragos is from Romania but lives in Lombok. Once the IDC is over Dragos is also looking to work somewhere in Indonesia.
